Special
Processes
Interested in
creating a non-standard business card? No creation is too complicated
for our printers. Special processes available for a small additional
fee: Registration, Bleeds, Screens and Reverses.
Registration
- When two ink colors are overprinted, touch or allow limited tolerance
for movement between the two colors. This includes two colors of
ink in the same line of print.
Bleeds - A bleed
refers to any time the ink touches or goes over one or more edges
of the card.
Screens - Photographs
(halftones), phantom backgrounds and gradients are examples of a
screen. A screen is the use of a line or dot pattern to add contrast
or highlights with one ink color so it appears to be different colors.
Reverse - An
image in which the black and white areas have been exchanged from
the original is a reverse. This is the same as a negative image.
